Respite Care or Convalescent Care at Home

We often get asked to provide live-in care for shorter periods of time, usually when the main carer is either looking to take a break themselves or for some reason,is unable to provide their normal support.  Working on a minimum of a 2 week period live-in care offers the ideal respite solution as the care plan can exactly follow their current routines and lifestyle. Importantly this means minimal disruption for the person receiving the care and peace of mind for the person taking the break.  See our dedicated website: www.sunshinecare.co.uk.

Because the same carer(s) will stay with you on an ongoing basis you will benefit from a continuity of companionship, routine and care.

We can arrange packages of care to facilitate a safe and prompt hospital discharge back to your home, supporting you until you regain your independence.

We understand that many carers feel worried or guilty about taking a break and leaving the person they are supporting, even for a short period.  Whether it be for a holiday or a forced absence through illness, call us on 0800 1 777 004 to discuss your needs in more detail and see how we can ease the transition of care until you return.

LIVE-IN RESPITE CARE SERVICE DETAILS

We provide care for a variety of people, each with their own specific care needs, and so match your requirements with the skill sets and characters of our care support staff.

It is important to us that you are totally comfortable with your care assistant, both personally and professionally.

Delivering a consistent high quality service is our priority and we ensure this high standard by careful recruitment of the best care support staff we can attract and the ongoing monitoring of their performance throughout their employment.

Our clients:

Feel that they are treated with respect and dignity.

Treated equally and protected against any form of discrimination.

Supported in maintaining their independence.

Assisted to make their own decisions.

A Service User Care Assessment and Care Plan is produced through consultation with each client to ensure we gather accurate information about care needs, wishes, preferences and personal goals.

Our care packages will vary from short-term respite, convalescent care or companionship care.

For those with very high dependency needs we will deliver more intensive packages, sometimes involving two carers at a time, if this is what you want.

If you are keen to stay at home rather than going into residential care then you will find that the cost will not be much more when compared to the care home fee of those establishments that provide a quality service like ourselves.

Your live-in care support staff will carry out personal care tasks, such as helping you to get up, washed and dressed, assist you to go to the toilet, all at your own speed and to your own timetable. They will be available to cook meals, do light housework and shopping. They can provide outings to places of local interest and look after your pets.
